The Krakow-Krowodrza parish was established as a result of efforts of Cardinal Karol Wojtyła.
In the main altar, there are the relics of the patron saint of the church, provided in 1983 by Pope John Paul II. During the sixth pilgrimage to his motherland, in 1997, the Pope visited the parish. The church of St. Queen Jadwiga, with the modern, monumental shape based on a Greek cross plan, is located on the route “In the Footsteps of John Paul II in Krakow”.
