Cieplice, located at the mouth of the Olczyska Valley in the Tatra Mountains, is the natural habitat of many species of amphibians and reptiles, which is why an amphibian and reptile protection centre was set up at the site of the former thermal pools in 2003. Its tenants are, among others, frogs, toads, salamanders, vipers and lizards.

The place was named 'Jaszczurówka' after the numerous salamanders that used to live here, referred to by mountaineers as 'lizards'. In conditions similar to those found in nature, it is possible to observe rare and endangered amphibian species: salamanders, newts and frogs, as well as reptiles: lizards and snakes. An educational trail made up of five stops has been marked out at the centre. It offers the opportunity not only to observe reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitat, but also to learn a lot about them, learn about the history of the site and become more familiar with aquatic ecosystems. The seating and picnic areas are conducive to relaxation. Tickets for the Tatra National Park are valid here.
